GENERAL SITUATION

Weather Bulletin

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadiat 5:30am on Thursday the 12th of April 2012
 

Situation:

A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain tothe far west of Fiji is gradually moving eastward and is expected toaffect the group from later Friday. 
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:Cloudy periods with some showers over the interior and eastern partsof the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon orevening showers. 
Moderate northeast winds.Moderate seas.  
 

Outlook for FRIDAY:

  • Cloud covers increasing with rain developing fromthe west and gradually spreading elsewhere overnight. 
 

Marine Bulletin:

  • A moist northeast windflow prevails over the group. Meanwhile, atrough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain to the far westof Fiji is gradually moving eastward and is expected to affect thegroup from later Friday.
